NEC plans to sell mobile unit NEC Mobiling

According to today's publication of the Tokyo business publication Nikkei, NEC Corporation is considering selling its mobile unit NEC Mobiling 70-80 billion yen, or about 740-840 million dollars.

Edition, referring to anonymous sources in the NEC, said the company conducts sales in the reduction of costs and the sale of non-core assets.

According to preliminary data, the company Marubeni Corp and TD Mobile has offered to invest in the NEC Mobiling, but both the buyer until the offer to buy only 51% of the shares, not the entire business completely.

Sources at the NEC said that while NEC decides the fate of the division and the final choice can be made next week.

In Japan, NECMobiling owns a chain of retail stores of cellular communication, most of which cater to the cellular company NTT Docomo.
