Philips increases sales and net profit in third quarter

The last European electronics manufacturer Philips Electronics today released a report for the third quarter of this year, reporting an increase in sales to 6.13 billion euros, against 5.39 billion euros a year earlier. 

Ebitda Margin of the company has grown from 368 million euros to 450 million euros. As reported by the Philips, the increase was due to Ebitda positive results of the company in the division of health, household appliances, and service areas. Excluding operating payments Ebitda totaled 562 million euros.

Net income from continuing operations was € 170 million or 18 cents per share, compared with 130 million euros, or 8 cents a share, a year earlier. Ebitda margin of 13.5%.


Sector-wise, Healthcare revenues climbed 18 percent to 2.44 billion euros. Comparable sales grew 7 percent, amid double-digit growth at Imaging Systems and high-single-digit growth at Home Healthcare Solutions. Lifestyles division increased sales performance by 3%, the direction of lighting solutions to increase sales in the quarter by 4%, with half of the growth came in LED-lighting solutions.

Today in Philips stated that the program continues to reduce costs in the third quarter thanks to her company saved 306 million euros. The total amount of savings on the results of the program should reach 1.1 billion euros. The company also confirmed the financial outlook for the year.
